Summer

Sparkling sunshine in a clear blue sky

Under the hot sun I lie

Making memories day after day

Much love that I have and hope it never goes away

Enjoying everything, and this summer I finally get to pull out of the driveway

Relax, its almost summer yay!

The poem I choose was an acrostic poem, because they are my favorite. I enjoy writing acrostic poems because i feel that there is one main topic and you can add details into each word. I choose to do the word summer because i cant wait for summer to be here. Throughout the poem i added my feelings, what i am going to do, and even some of my senses. I enjoy writing poems where you can express how you feel, and a acrostic poem i believe i can show all of my emotions. I got my idea of doing summer by thinking of all the things i love and enjoy, and summer is one of the top ones. Especially this summer because i will get to hang out with friends and family as well as get my license, but mostly be stress free, which all of those things are very important to me.

Before I started this class i never usually wrote poetry that much, and now from being in this class and learning this unit i have multiple different styles of poems in my journal. I liked learning all the different styles but i did not enjoy writing all of them, some of them where very tricky but some i could write all day. I have never really been into writing poetry but from this class and unit my mind has changed very much because now i have another way to express my feelings and write my emotions which is very important to me. I will definitely say that i enjoy writing poetry more than i did before!
