Snowboarding @ Breckenridge

On a cold December morning, high up in the mountains of Breckenridge Colorado was a day I will never forget. I was with my family and my best friend Olivia Nemeth, we were ready to take on the hills on our snowboards for the first time other than skiing. Neither of us had no idea what we were doing so my brother was helping us throughout the hole day until he ended up giving up. Let’s be real, we were both absolutely horrible, almost to the point where it was embarrassing. Every ten seconds from going down the easier hills on of us would face plant. At that point we knew we couldn’t do anything harder, because the bunny hills were killing us. “OH MY GOSH, can you guys stay up for longer than two seconds” my brother would tell us. We would all just laugh together at ourselves because we knew we couldn’t. Basically what I’m trying to say is neither of us knew how to stop whatsoever, but that’s not the point, the point is that I will always remember this day and all the memories it brought me. “Sled fast or eat grass” we would scream going down the hill, it was kinda of our little joke that got us to keep trying. So now whenever I hear that all I can think of is how happy we were that day and how many bruises I got all over my body, OUCH. I will also remember the feeling of the cold white snow all over my face and the very cold breezes as we went up the lift. We even brought a speaker that my brother carried in his bag he had. We would jam to our favorite songs as we went up to the top of the hill and as we would make our way down. To this day those songs are still my favorite because of all of the memories, if i hear a song we played multiple flashbacks come into my head and it makes me so happy. It makes me sad because I always wish i could go back and do the same thing with my family and best friend. As it goes every day comes to an end and we had to go back to the house up on the hill. We got back as a family and ate dinner, played card games, and sat by the fire. I wouldn’t change this day for anything because to me the most important things in my life is my friends and family and that’s all I had that day. I’ve also learned that as time goes on we should all be thankful for everything we have, because i sure am especially these people being in my life:)
